Photography
I have been an avid photographer ever since my parents first got me a disposable camera at the age of 6. From my sisters, to a flower or even my Barbie's discarded shoes, I became fascinated with documenting the world around me through image. In high school I was able to develop my technical skills through classes in film photography, a process that allowed me to see my inner thoughts swirl into material expression in the form of developer on photo paper and reignited my passion for photography. I've carried these skills and sense of the magic of photos with me to this day as I work mainly in digital with my Canon EOS Rebel T2i. Below is a sample of some representative works, expressing my interest in exploring themes of cultural exchange, portraiture, food styling, and capturing the wonder in daily life.
